New Channel 5 Airline Documentary features Jet Cook Customer

Did you catch the British Airways documentary on Channel 5 this week?  We were proud to see DCN customers, Do & Co feature as the catering company who have turned around the in-flight menus for the airline.

Typically, the perception of airline food has not always been positive.  In the new documentary, British Airway 24/7: Access All Areas, it shows how the airline have worked with Do & Co to change the menus and improve the quality of the food for customers.

The programme shows how they develop recipes in their kitchen in Vienna before producing them in larger volumes at their premises in London.  The challenge is making sure you keep that great taste whilst producing the recipes in larger volumes.    With BA serving 100,000 meals in the sky every day this is very important, every one of those dishes needs to look and taste the same.

This is a challenge that our team address for customers daily, and we worked alongside Do & Co. to develop a Jet Cook System to produce demi-glaze, jus, sauces and soups for first-class passengers and crew.  This system alongside our Tumble Chiller and Pump Fill Station is now installed at their London premises and helps to produce the thousands of meals required a day.  Our Recipe Manager Software System ensures that the recipe is followed correctly each and every time, with any errors immediately detected.  This guarantees the quality and repeatability that is so important to our customers.
